Two Things to Brighten Your Gloomy Autumn Day

When temperature drops and sunshine disappears for days, the dark and rainy afternoons can be deadly for an exhausted teacher. There are two things that can cheer you up and recharge you to be ready for another hard day at work.

A walk in nature on a chilly day

Nothing is more soothing than a peaceful stroll in a park, vineyard or countryside during this time of the year when nature paints the world with its most charming colors. It will clear your head and pump you with energy in just a couple of minutes.


A nice warm drink after a walk on a chilly day

Nothing beats a warm mug you can hold onto on a cold rainy day. When you add a drop of delicious Scotch and a book you’ve been planning to read for ages, curl up under a warm blanket, you will find yourself in a very happy place.


The simplest Hot Toddy drink:


  • 4 cl Scotch
  • 4 cl freshly squeezed lemon or lime juice
  • 2 teaspoons of brown sugar or honey ( you can add more if you have a sweet tooth)
  •  2 cloves
  • 1 star anise
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • hot water


Squeeze the juice into your favorite mug, add the sugar or honey, cloves, anise and cinnamon. Boil water and pour 15-20 cl in the mug. Stir and add the Scotch. Stir again, enjoy and have a lovely evening.
